Feel the thrill of trekking among Africa’s large primates. Walk through dense tropical rainforests and climb hills to get close to the rare mountain gorilla. It’s an adventure of a lifetime which, combined with game viewing drives in the savannah, offers a great African safari experience.

Day 1: Kigali (Rwanda)

Arrive at Kigali, pick up from the airport, transfer to Kigali Serena Hotel Bed and Breakfast

Day 2: Kigali-PNV

Depart after breakfast for a tour of the Genocide Memorial and Crafts before proceeding to Parc des Nationale (PNV) arriving in the late afternoon for relaxation.

Accommodation: Sabyinyo Lodge

Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Parc National des Volcans (PNV)

Transfer to the national park headquarters for briefing by park rangers then depart for the day’s hike in search of the mountain gorillas. The whole day is dedicated to trekking, as it’s unpredictable how many hours it may take to reach a group of gorillas.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Parc National des Volcans (PNV)

Another whole day of gorilla trekking (possibly visiting a different gorilla family). After the day’s adventure we return to the lodge.

Day 5: PNV-Kigali-Nairobi

Breakfast then transfer to Kigali, with lunch en route. Drop off at the airport for flight to Nairobi.

Day 6: Masai Mara

Depart after breakfast and transfer to Wilson airport for morning flight to Masai Mara. Pick up from airstrip and transfer to a luxury safari camp for lunch.

Accommodation: Exclusive and luxury tented camp with large and spacious tents, with king or twin beds, and en suite bathrooms.

Meals: Lunch and dinner, soft drinks, local beer, house wine, non-luxury spirits

Days 7 & 8: Masai Mara

Two full days of game drives in the Mara. The Mara Game Reserve is largely plains and the open grasslands are habitat to rich and varied wildlife such as lion, leopard, cheetah, buffalo, zebra, giraffe etc. There are also several species of birds. The annual migration of millions of wildebeest and antelope from July to September is a spectacle never to be missed by any visitor to the Mara.

Day 9: Nairobi

Depart by morning flight to Nairobi, lunch at the Carnivore restaurant then transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International airport.
